Cinnamon Sugar Biscuits Using Homemade Biscuit Mix

These cinnamon sugar biscuits are soft, fluffy, and lightly sweet, made with homemade biscuit mix. An easy from-scratch biscuit recipe perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups homemade biscuit mix
  • 3/4 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • Additional cinnamon sugar for topping (optional)

Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • Measuring cup
  • 1 Cast Iron Skillet
  • 1 Biscuit Cutter

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, stir together the homemade biscuit mix, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the milk and stir just until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead 3 to 4 times.
  5. Pat dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut into biscuits.
  6. Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush the tops with melted butter.
  8. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon sugar if desired.
  9. Bake at 450°F for 10 to 12 minutes, until lightly golden.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

Do not overwork the dough or the biscuits will be dense.
These biscuits are best served warm.
Brush with extra melted butter after baking for a softer finish.
For a sweeter biscuit, add an extra tablespoon of sugar to the dough.
