Homemade ranch dry mix made from pantry spices in a glass jar

Homemade Ranch Dry Seasoning Blend

Ranch is one of those flavors that shows up everywhere — on chicken, vegetables, potatoes, and at just about every family gathering in dip form.

Instead of buying packets, I keep this homemade ranch dry seasoning blend mixed and ready in a pint jar. It’s simple, flexible, and works for seasoning meat, mixing up a quick dip, or making homemade ranch dressing.

If you’re new to pantry cooking, this is one of those mixes that makes everything feel easier. It’s dependable, familiar, and gets used often.

Why Make Your Own Ranch Seasoning?

Store-bought ranch packets are convenient, but making your own gives you more control and more flexibility.

This homemade version:
    •    Uses simple pantry ingredients
    •    Stores well in a jar
    •    Replaces store-bought packets
    •    Works for seasoning, dressing, and dip

It’s not about being fancy — it’s about keeping a pantry that actually works for everyday meals.

    2.    Transfer the mixture to a pint-size jar with a tight-fitting lid.
    3.    Shake well to evenly distribute the herbs and seasonings.
    4.    Store in a cool, dry pantry.

Once it’s mixed, it’s ready whenever you need it.

How to Use Ranch Dry Seasoning

This mix is incredibly versatile and can be used far beyond salad dressing.

To Season Meat
    •    Use 2–3 tablespoons per pound of meat
    •    Works well with chicken, pork, or beef
    •    Great for baking, grilling, or slow cooker meals

To Make Ranch Dressing or Dip
    •    Use 2–3 tablespoons seasoning per 1 cup of liquid
    •    Try:
    •    ½ cup mayonnaise + ½ cup sour cream
    •    Buttermilk or regular milk for a thinner dressing
    •    Adjust the liquid for a thicker dip or pourable dressing

How I Use This Mix in Everyday Cooking

This ranch seasoning blend works well for:
    •    Sheet-pan chicken and vegetables
    •    Roasted or mashed potatoes
    •    Slow cooker meals
    •    Ranch dip for vegetables or crackers
    •    Quick homemade salad dressing

If a recipe calls for a ranch packet, this mix can be used in its place.

Storage Tips
    •    Store in an airtight jar
    •    Keep in a cool, dry pantry
    •    Use within 6 months for best flavor

I keep this one front and center — it’s used often.
